Palm Bay P.D. SHOOTING UNDER INVESTIGATION

Per Palm Bay Police Department Press Release:

(Palm Bay)–The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is currently investigating a police involved shooting in which an adult male was grazed in the arm.  The male, identified as Charles Huggett, (dob 05-08-1967) was not seriously injured.  At approximately 4:54 p.m. patrol officers responded to 2862 Landry Ave. SE to assist the Department of Children and Families with an investigation.  While on scene a pitbull dog charged at Officer Bob Rama in an aggressive manner and Officer Rama fired his service weapon.  The bullet struck the house and debris subsequently struck Huggett in the arm.  Huggett was transported to the hospital for evaluation.  His injuries are listed as minor.  The officer was not injured.
            Officer Rama is on paid administrative leave per normal protocol for this type of incident. The investigation is ongoing.
