Richard Angel Killed In Crash

MICCO, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that 55-year-old Richard Angel of Sebastian, Florida has died as a result of injuries that he sustained from being struck by a car during the early morning hours on Thursday near the intersection of Fleming Grant Road and Wagon Master Trail near Micco, Florida.

FHP says that a 38-year-old John Palmer of Rockledge, Florida was driving a Nissan Maxima which was traveling northbound on Fleming Grant Road at a high rate of speed.

According to FHP reports, Palmer failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and the Maxima traveled off the road and into a ditch. Angel died at the scene. Palmer was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida where he remains in critical condition.

A passerby found the vehicle in the ditch at 5:30 a.m. However, FHP is still attempting to determine the exact time the crass occurred.
