Governor Extends Florida Foreclosure and Eviction Moratorium Until October 1st

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a last-minute extension of Florida’s moratorium of evictions and mortgage foreclosures until October 1, 2020.

The moratorium was previously set to expire on September 1st.

DeSantis originally suspended mortgage foreclosure and eviction actions in Florida on April 2, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor’s original executive order was set to expire on June 2, 2020.

The Governor has since extended the moratorium four times until July 1st, August 1st, September 1st, and now October 1st.
