BREVARD COUNTY, Florida – Two suspects are facing multiple felony charges after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop and firing shots at police in Brevard County, Florida.
On the evening of March 1, Cocoa police officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction. Police say that the female driver fled and the male passenger in the vehicle fired at least three rounds at police as the suspects attempted to flee.
Cocoa police officers initiated a pursuit northbound on US 1 with assistance from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver crashed into another vehicle in Titusville at which time the occupants of the suspect vehicle were taken into custody.
According to Cocoa police, there was a toddler in the suspect vehicle that was not properly secured. The child was not injured.
The multi-jurisdictional investigation is ongoing with assistance from Titusville Police.
There were no injuries to law enforcement officers.
